I think it is safe to say, that since October 7th, no Muslim, or person of true faith or conscience has been able to sleep peacefully. Every day, we have been glued to our phones and social media outlets to receive more horrific news after another. The level of evil and hate we have seen emerge to the surface in the past two weeks has awakened a sense of doom, fear, pain, and helplessness like never before. And on top of all that – the extreme, unyielding guilt of watching it all happen from the comfort of our luxurious lives here.
In a time like this, shaytaan is rejoicing at the despair all of us feel and works overtime to bring our spirits down. Why? Because hopelessness is the enemy of the believer.
So how do deal with our natural pain for our beloved brothers and sisters in Palestine, the strong and effective negative whisperings of shaytaan, and figure out what our role as a Muslim, as a human being is right now?
There is a way. And that’s what motivated me to start coaching, and to start with free sessions (book here) to help spiritually and emotionally boost as many people as I can around me. We should always draw upon The Quran and Hadiths first and foremost for strength & guidance in a time like this, followed with the guidance of our well-respected scholars and imams.
Just remember that you are not alone in your anguish, and now is the time to come together and support each other as an ummah and stand together strong for justice. Start with increased recitation of the Quran, getting your salah on track, waking up to pray in tahajjud, donating however you can, boycotting products and companies that support the genocide, and speaking up on any platform or in any opportunity you have to educate others about the truth. May the protection and pleasure of Allah be with all of us, and the best of His divine assistance and mercy be with the Palestinians. Ameen.
